Being a Games Shaper at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games means being part of something bigger. Staff, volunteers and contractors will come together as a diverse and united team to shape the best event in Games history.

Games Shapers will show the world how proud, vibrant, committed and friendly the Gold Coast and Queensland community is. We’ll shape an unforgettable experience for everyone, from athletes and officials to fans from around the Commonwealth.

FAQs

Where do I find out more about my role?

If you are offered a role, you will be able to find out more about your team and role by accessing your role description in the News section of the Games Shapers Portal.

When will I get my roster?

We will be releasing your roster from December, in a phased approach depending on which team you are assigned to.

When will I get my uniform?

From January 2018. All Games Shapers will receive a uniform prior to the Games commencing. Details and timings will be communicated to Games Shapers through the portal.

Will free transport be provided?

Games Shapers will receive free transport to and from events in all event cities from 25 March to 18 April, when using TransLink operated services in Brisbane, Gold Coast and Cairns, and qconnect in Townsville. Active travel for Games Shapers who live close to venues is also encouraged.

Will food and beverages be provided?

Depending on the length of your shift, a meal and beverages /refreshments will be provided to you.
In total around 150,000 meals will be provided to Games Shapers throughout GC2018.

What is the GC2018 Games Shapers Portal?

The Games Shapers Portal is where you will find general information about being a Games Shaper, and once you’ve been offered a role, specific information about your training program, rosters and uniform and accreditation collection.
