GC2018 Reconciliation Action Plan and the Queen’s Baton Relay

In a nationwide first for Australian events, a Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) has been developed for the XXI Commonwealth Games in demonstrating our commitment to supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The GC2018 RAP is the first of its kind delivered by a major event in Australia and in Commonwealth Games history.

The GC2018 RAP provides a unique opportunity to educate and promote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander awareness to a large and diverse group of stakeholders who will experience the XXI Commonwealth Games. As part of the QBR we aim to promote and encourage nominations for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to becoming batonbearers.

The GC2018 QBR is encouraging all Australians to recognise people from their communities and nominate them to be batonbearers.
