Australian clothing icon Hard Yakka has joined the GC2018 sponsor family as Official Uniform Provider.
Utilising the latest technologies, Hard Yakka will supply durable work wear-style uniforms for the 15,000 volunteers who will toil tirelessly over 11 days to bring the 4-15 April 2018 international event to life.
GOLDOC Chairman, Peter Beattie AC is excited to have one of Australia’s most recognised clothing companies fitting out thousands of our team.
I’m told by the Hard Yakka team that Yakka is a word derived from the indigenous word for ‘work’,
The Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games will be the largest event in this country in a decade and I’m looking forward to seeing Hard Yakka draw on its vast experience to create a uniform that fills each volunteer with pride.
GOLDOC CEO Mark Peters said the time has come for those looking to play their part as a volunteer at GC2018 and don the Hard Yakka uniform.
After half a decade of planning it’s all about to happen and those wishing to volunteer for the time of their lives will have their opportunity to register online from this Monday 6 February.
We are looking for 15,000 people who want to be a pivotal part of welcoming the world to our shores in just over a years’ time.
And look very well dressed doing it,
The iconic Australian firm will also provide uniforms for Games workforce as well as participants in the GC2018 Queen’s Baton Relay.
